About

Hello! I am so glad you are here! You are courageous for taking the first step on improving your life!

My name is Kim. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker for the state of Ohio. For 15 years, I have dedicated myself in the profession of helping others. I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania where I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Misericordia University and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. I relocated with my family to Columbus, Ohio 5 years ago.

My experience and practice has been in home, school and community based settings with children, youth, adults, couples and families. Specifically with children and youth I have experience in Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, parent-child conflict, trauma/abuse/neglect, anger management, and behavior management. Most of my adult practice includes: stress, anxiety, depression, relationship/family issues, career difficulties, parenting struggles, and substance addiction. In addition, working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum/Intellectual Disabilities and their families, as well as women who are pregnant are areas that I have great expertise and experience.

My approach to therapy is reflective of a Strengths Based model and is client centered. You know your story best! I develop solution focused goals with my clients and prioritize what they feel is most important in developing a treatment plan. Some therapies I use include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, positive psychology, person-centered therapy and art/play therapy with children. My goal is to offer interventions to allow you to be the best version of yourself. You are the author of your story!

For my self care practice, I participate in yoga and spin classes and attend church on a regular basis. Most of my time is spent with my husband and three children. Volunteering is an important part of who I am. My role as a Volunteer Resource Coordinator for a local community organization, serves those who find themselves homeless in the Columbus Area. I gather and collect items and food to be distributed at the respite center. Lastly, I take great pride in being an Autism Advocate because of my work as a professional, as well as knowing individuals in my personal life on the Autism Spectrum.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about what I can offer you. I would be honored to guide you along your journey if you feel I am a good fit. Be Well!
