Welcome to my website! My name is Kim Alberts and I’m a registered nurse and counselor with over 30-years experience in chemical dependency, mental health issues, trauma, and in private practice working with adults and adolescents. I have worked in emergency rooms, in-patient mental health units, chemical dependency units, and in private practice working with adults and adolescents. During this time, I have treated hundreds of patients suffering from dual diagnosis – substance dependence and mental illness problems, clients experiencing the effects of drugs and alcohol, and with the families that are also experiencing similar issues. I have a Masters degree in Health Science in Addictions from Governors State University and am a Certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC), a Registered Dual Diagnosis Professional (RDDP), and a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse (CARN).
