Welcome to Find A Therapist! Please feel free to call me "Kay" if that's easier to pronounce.

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Nevada, and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with almost 12 years of experience in the counseling field. I graduated in 2010 from New York University with my MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness, and in 2008 from New York University with my BA in Psychology. I have experience with providing college counseling, home-based family therapy, counseling in an outpatient public clinic, psychotherapy at a group practice, and healthcare counseling in the palliative care field. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have treated individuals with anxiety, depression, addiction, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma, and adjustment to changes. I am comfortable and experienced with providing therapy to a diverse population.

My style in more eclectic when approaching therapy because it's important for me to tailor therapy to an individual's needs. I've been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). It's important for me to create a therapeutic relationship where a person feels safe, not judged, and understood. My style is warm and I will take my time to understand what's going on for you, then work with you collaboratively to figure out how to address your issues.
