I am a graduate of Hawaii Pacific University in which future clinicians were challenged to integrate knowledge gathered via family systems, individual and couples counseling into a comprehensive context; spanning micro, mezzo and macro levels of advocacy. My experience within the field spans a total of 15 years of care coordination, residential treatment (acute /sub-acute), and crises therapy in an outpatient or walk in clinic . My main focus as a clinician is establishing integrative care goals to address areas of crises management, trauma and grief, substance dependence and abuse, family/individual and couples therapy. My theory base for practice involves DBT, CBT, Integrative Gestalt (CIGT) Interpersonal, Motivational Interviewing and brief counseling to assist clients with developing viable coping skills and a progressive self awareness leading to greater well-being and autonomy. In my experience the most important part of the therapeutic process is establishing trust based on accountability confidentiality and a genuine concern for clients and the issues we mutually address.
