Kevin Ferry has over forty years of clinical experience as a licensed psychotherapist and in the treatment of addictions. His utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, incorporating a holistic approach emphasizing the significance of the mind/body connection including diet, exercise and meditation. His work includes designing, implementing and directing the first addictions program at Princeton University. He was also on staff of the Cornell University Medical College Addiction Program in the 1990's where he was one of the first to address psychological issues as a factor in successfully treating the addict. He has been a consultant to many programs and has worked with leaders in the field of addictions at Brown University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth College, and Rutgers University where he was in their Summer School of Alcohol Studies and later a guest lecturer. His early 1970's groundbreaking college credit courses for nursing students and police and social services majors greatly impacted dispelling the negative stereotypes historically associated with addictions. He also designed one of the original outpatient treatment programs for women with addiction issues. He is currently in private practice in New York and New Jersey and specializes in working with patients with obsessive compulsive disorders and alcohol, eating and anxiety issues.
