Hello,

In my 40 years of counseling experience, I have been privileged to work in many different settings and with many wonderful individuals. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in 1998, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Psychotherapy privilege in New York State. I retired from the New York State Office of Mental Health in 2011 and now maintain my private practice

I have experience practicing in a Community Mental Health Center where I treated both adolescents and adults with chronic mental health disorders. These diagnoses included Bipolar Disorder, Mood Disorders, OCD, Personality Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and Sexual Addiction/Dysfunction. I also provide therapy for couples, focusing on cognitive restructuring and anger management issues.

I find it very rewarding to listen to and interact with my clients and to share their unique issues to help them in finding a path to true self-actualization.

While I did not serve in the Military, I spend a great amount of time working with our active and retired military in all branches of the Service. I have gained a unique perspective into the issues facing this fine group of dedicated individuals. I meet with members of the Law Enforcement and EMS communities as well.

There has always been a debate in the Social Work Profession concerning self-disclosure. I believe that this technique is essential in developing a therapeutic rapport with our clients. The individuals we serve need to know that many of us have walked the same paths, witnessed the same sights, endured the same tragedies and shared the same joys.
