I attended Columbia University School of Social Work and have been a social worker for over 23 years. My focus is clinical practice and I use a variety of clinical approaches when working with the challenges associated with emotional distress such as depression and anxiety along with everyday struggles experienced by clients. What is your approach to therapy? I am a great listener and show a lot of compassion toward your struggles. My modality focus tends to be a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, IFS, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Therapy. We start with an assessment so that I can get to know you and then we will develop treatment goals of your choosing to have a focus. We will then work on a variety of clinical interventions that apply to your situation. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? The number of sessions varies depending on the circumstances. I have had clients as short as 8 sessions and some for several years. Though treatment does not guarantee success, I have had many successful outcomes with clients like you where they have learned many coping skills, gained insight into their thinking, feelings, behaviors, and shifts in their perspective(s) of everyday life.
