My name is Kendra Rascoe, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and graduated from Liberty University with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with clients in Virginia statewide through telehealth. I work with adults, adolescents, and children. I specialize in anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relationships. I utilize an integrative and person-centered approach using a combination of theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Family systems, and Solution-focused. My approach My approach will depend on the client. I work with every person on what they are comfortable with and what they are trying to accomplish during their therapeutic journey. I am a firm believer in de-stigmatizing mental health. People seek oil changes for their cars to keep them running or obtain an annual physical as a part of their yearly medical routine. Mental health therapy can be seen as an emotional tune-up. There is no shame in seeking help or support. Whatever reason you are seeking counseling, I will be here to help process, encourage, and empower you through your therapeutic journey. My focus I am accepting adults, adolescents, and children. I am only accepting virtually; therefore, the most appropriate fit would be someone that is willing to communicate through the computer. I have experience working with couples, families, and individuals. My communication style My main goal in communication is transparency. I want to provide a non-judgmental environment where clients can feel free to talk about anything with me. Honesty is so powerful and transformative. It is important that transparency is the foundation of communication. My journey to therapy I have wanted to help people since I was young. I started working in the behavioral health field after receiving my bachelor's degree. I am passionate about providing representation (being a minority female) in mental health.
