About

Hello! My name is Kendra DeLoof. I am a clinically licensed therapist (LCSW) who specializes in trauma-informed and client-centered treatment. I have been a practicing clinician for over 7 years where I have assisted individuals in navigating the complexities of the human experience. Life can be difficult, but meaningful when we are given proper tools to navigate it. Many of us have not been taught effective ways to manage stress or engage in relationships (both with ourselves and others). Some of us have experienced trauma or are stuck in feelings of shame that prevent us from moving forward. Here you will find non-judgmental support for tapping into your personal power and taking steps to get what you really want out of life!

Emotions and negative experiences often feel unsafe to process. We look for distraction, numbing, or even compulsive control in order to avoid ourselves because this feels safer than going inward. This is a normal response of body/brain functioning that works to protect ourselves from the effects of everyday stress. Yet, unprocessed emotion can create negative reactions like addiction, self-destructive decision making, and even physical illness. I will provide information on cutting-edge neurobiology and somatic treatment methods to hijack body and brain functioning to work for your benefit. I will de-stigmatize ways that you may have responded to trauma and support you as you learn to provide yourself compassion with how you've approached situations in the past. We then will use tools within treatment that feel healthy and authentic to who you are. These tools will support you in meeting your personal goals.

I do not approach therapy as a hierarchical relationship. I treat all clients as experts of their own personal experiences. I act as a partner with you in this journey and base all of our activities in treatment off of your stated goals. If you aren't yet sure of what your goals are for therapy- that is ok! We will explore that together. I look forward to getting to know you and am excited to provide support in this important step that you are taking for yourself!
