About
My name is Kelly Gendreau and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Southern California. I enjoy working with teens and adults struggling with grief/loss, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and more! My approach My approach to therapy is very Humanistic and Person-Centered in nature. I focus on what my clients identify as their most important needs in the moment and work collaboratively with my clients throughout their treatment process. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to share openly and get the most out of their therapy experience. My focus I specialize in working with clients impacted by grief/loss (human loss, pet loss, other types of loss), but I enjoy working with clients of varying presenting concerns (anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, trauma, etc.) from various backgrounds. I currently work with children/adolescents, teens, and adults. My communication style I have a very laid back personality, am flexible in my treatment approach, and enjoy utilizing humor (when appropriate) in session. Building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients is of great importance to me, in order to build a strong foundation for healing and creating positive change. Starting therapy can be an intimidating journey, but I strive to create an atmosphere for clients where they can feel comfortable showing up every week for session and feel heard and understood. My goals for you I enjoy exploring my clients' goals and their needs from therapy, then working collaboratively to assist them in achieving those goals. While setting goals is helpful to identify the direction for our sessions and the client's treatment, I am very flexible to my client's needs and focus sessions on what is most important to them in that moment.
