I have been clinically licensed as a supervising counselor for 24 years. I hold master's degrees in both counseling & criminal justice. I am a doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati in the counselor education program. My area of specialization is trauma. I have multiple certifications: Polyvagal-informed practice, IFS-informed practice, MCBT, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, EMDR & Traumatic Stress Studies. What is your approach to therapy? I am of the opinion that therapy is best conducted from a holistic approach. We think, feel & act our way into better tomorrows. I often encourage clients to weave yoga, nervous system regulation techniques, exercise & journaling into the therapeutic process. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? Hopefully, the outcome is to feel better, to let go of some of the anchors that keep us mired in the past. Ideally, I'd suppose that we become more fully engaged in the experience of life now or at least a bit better at weathering the storms of life. Life is always going to have rainy seasons. We really can learn to dance in the rain.
