My name is Keeyana McLish and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Birmingham, Al. I work with children, adults, and adolescents specializing in trauma, depression, impulse control, anxiety, grief, and stress. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy to create treatment catered to each individual client’s needs. My approach My approach to therapy is based solely on the client’s individual needs. I utilize CBT and Person-Centered therapy as a guide to assist clients in changing how they experience mental health. I make a connection with each client and provide a comfortable space for the client to be able to express themselves. My focus I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I cater my approach based on the age of the client. I work with clients to navigate whatever they may be experiencing in their lives and provide a listening ear so that they feel validated and heard. My communication style My communication style is calm, personable, and comforting. I want my clients to be able to express themselves and understand that they have someone to listen to them. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist when I was in college. I realized that I wanted to help people get through their challenges and realize they can overcome anything they desire. I am fulfilled when I see my clients grow and overcome. My goals for you My goal for therapy is to work with the client to come up with a plan to achieve their goals.
