Kayla Nettleton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Del Rio, TX who serves adult individuals and couples throughout the state of Texas. Kayla’s passions include helping people break negative relationship patterns and assisting women through identity issues stemming from life transitions. Many of Kayla’s clients come in when they’ve experienced increased stress leading to burnout, feeling like they no longer have control or they have recently identified they no longer recognize the person they have become. Kayla’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. Many of Kayla’s clients are successful in their careers but often struggle with relationships, people-pleasing, self-confidence and trusting others. Using a cognitive based approach Kayla assists her clients to explore their core beliefs about themselves, others and their world and determine how these beliefs are impacting their current life. This then allows her client’s to learn about their triggers, figure out skills to cope with those triggers and proceed to changing behavior patterns that allow her clients to choose to respond instead of react to change or fear. Kayla is committed to maintaining an inclusive practice where her clients feel safe, heard and understood. Kayla is particularly sensitive to populations who may struggle with trusting mental health professionals for fear of being blamed or judged in some way such as veterans, LGBTQIA+, first generation Americans and partners in non-traditional relationships.
