About
We are a part of multiple systems that connect us, although we tend to forget that the human body is also a system itself. We have complex thoughts, minds, dreams, communication, and a physiological body that can be hard to understand. From a systemic standpoint, I want to help you establish a support system within your own self through building your self-esteem and independence. I also want to help you build and grow external support systems so that it’s possible for you to reach your goals. Furthermore, I believe in helping you form your own identity and role in our complex world to make navigating relationships, personal or otherwise, easier. My foremost emphasis in therapy is to build a trustworthy relationship with anyone who comes into my care. I strongly believe each individual is an expert in their own life, so therefore collaboration is emphasized in my therapy. I have a wide range of experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. I have extensive experience in trauma work, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and life stage transitions. My passion for systemic work arrives from my own personal experiences as an immigrant. Navigating a completely different social system, from language to culture and beliefs, helped deepen my understanding of the issues of language barriers, cultural differences, and disabilities. I find it important to understand your own unique experiences, and thus I strive to provide you with a non-judgmental and interpersonal space where you would feel comfortable exploring your life stories. I love helping children and adults navigate different spaces based on their own belief systems. As a bilingual (Vietnamese and English) licensed therapist, I will provide extensive support in helping you reach your goals while keeping your beliefs, culture, and identities in mind.
