Welcome! My name is Kathryn Konicek and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado with over 10 years of experience in assisting people through challenging life experiences and transitions. I have been working as a therapist for the last 5 years. Over the course of my career, I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, sexuality and intimacy issues, as well as those experiencing post-trauma symptoms.

For me, therapy is not about judging where we are, but rather envisioning and working towards where we want to be. Very often, I find that people who are seeking therapy have a great deal of resources and skills that have assisted and helped them in the past. As we evolve and move throughout life, what previously worked for us may no longer be effective. Therefore, I work with clients to learn more about themselves and how their past experiences continue to impact their world view, thoughts, and behaviors. Once we have a better understanding of ourselves, we can identify and learn new tools and strategies to better serve us in the present.

As a therapist I strive to assist clients in self-exploration and understanding through a non-judgmental, collaborative processes. I believe therapy should be empowering and meaningful, and seek to provide honest, compassionate, and individualized care to those with whom I work. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, among many others. Depending on the unique circumstances of each client and their goals, these methods and treatments will be tailored to individual needs.

It is very normal to be apprehensive about engaging in therapy, especially if this is your first time. I commend you for taking the leap and seeking support as you navigate this process of becoming who you want to be.
