About

I have many years in the profession and truelly value my work with others. I grew up in the city of Chicago in a rich diverse atmosphere with varied ethnicities, cultures and identities. Even though my parents were not formally educated they encouraged their children to seek higher education as a means to success. I realized early that my path was to work in a helping profession with people. I attended city college and transferred to SIU Carbondale for my bachelors program. As a young adult I experienced the cultural and social shift of the late 1960's and early 1970's and am proud to have been involved in activist changes of the time. We are all "works in progress" and I evolved into Counseling and eventually educating counselors subsequent to obtaining a Masters and PhD status. I do what I teach and I teach what I do has been the defining essence of who I am. Each individual I work with is special and valuable and is entitled to respect and trust.
