Kathrine believes that life is a journey filled with joys, frustrations, sadness, and change. At times, this journey can become unstable and difficult to navigate. Kathrine believes in meeting clients where they are, as each individual situation is unique, each person is unique. She is passionate about helping others find relief from a stressful situation or to assist clients to expand coping skills, improve and enhance communication skills, and to embrace the true self. Having graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology and began working with developmentally delayed children and adults while studying for a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Upon graduation, she worked with both children and adults in inpatient psychiatric settings, assisting clients in stabilizing as well as providing psychoeducation and psychotherapy to prevent future hospitalizations. Kathrine has over 25 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and their families as they navigate through various life challenges including, depression, anxiety, school refusal, ADHD, OCD, self-harm, and family conflict. Kathrine has also spent more than 8 years working as a case manager supervisor often assisting clients in need of mental health treatment, finding appropriate housing and resources, and providing support for vulnerable populations including both adults and children. Kathrine is passionate for the need to place importance on our mental health and remove negative stigmas that continue to exist surrounding mental health issues. Kathrine is a mother of 2 daughters and in her spare time, enjoys reading, sharing meals with family and friends, and hiking.
