Hello! I would first like to applaud you for taking the first step toward finding greater satisfaction in life. I believe this is what we all seek, and within the right therapeutic relationship we can better identify our needs and make changes to meet those needs. I have been a therapist for six years in which time I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families in various clinical settings. My primary theoretical orientation is attachment theory, which indicates that positive growth occurs within healthy, boundaried relationships. I believe that this can be applied to the therapeutic relationship and I aim to provide nurturing, dependable support to my clients to promote growth.
Though I have clinical experience with a wide range of populations, my areas of specialization include personality disorders, bipolar disorder, attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, trauma, HIV/AIDS, immigration, and issues affecting those in the LGBTQ+ community. If you do not identify with any of these circumstances, please know that I strongly encourage the use of therapy to promote development in the absence of significant distress, as we all require support.
Lastly I believe that having an authentic connection with a therapist is essential to the process, and if you do not find that with me I will be supportive of your decision to seek another therapist. My therapeutic style blends humor, sincerity, and a strong foundation of applicable skills to achieve therapeutic progress. Outside of work I enjoy tasteful reality television, baking, and being walked by my dog. I look forward to hearing from you!
