About
Our human compassion binds us the one to the other - not in pity or patronizingly, but as human beings who have learnt how to turn our common suffering into hope for the future.” Nelson Mandela
The success of therapy is directly related to the strength of the alliance between therapist and client. One of the most important factors in successful therapy is the level of comfort the client feels towards their therapist. What I bring to the therapeutic alliance is empathy, honesty, humor and open mindedness. My job is to help facilitate the change my clients are seeking. I provide a safe therapeutic environment that will lead to lasting contentment and hope for the future.
Working in both residential and outpatient treatment settings, I have over 10 years of experience with those dealing with the challenges of addiction, trauma, and crisis. I have helped families and individuals understand addiction and mental illness and have successfully counseled them on how best to manage the accompanying chaos, stress and confusion.
My experience working in Jail, residential rehab, and psychiatric health facilities with the most vulnerable, severely and persistently mentally ill population has provided me with an outlook, approach and experience unmatched in any other setting. I am equipped to manage symptoms of severe trauma, addiction, self sabotage, impulsivity, anxiety, hopelessness, and many other symptoms of mental illness that are so prevalent, profound, and misunderstood in our society today.
I feel honored each time I witness my clients' courageous self-discoveries. I do not take for granted the gifts that this healing work provides for both therapist and client.
