I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker who is licensed in Massachusetts. i have been a therapist for over 15 years and have worked with clients of diverse backgrounds, races and ethnicities. I am sensitive to different cultural and religious beliefs and sexual orientations. Prior to becoming a therapist I worked in various settings, including: a psychiatric hospital, therapeutic school and public high school. Since obtaining my masters degree I have worked as a therapist and clinical director with clients who present with a range of emotional and behavioral challenges and diagnoses including: depression, anxiety, trauma reactivity (sexual abuse, physical abuse, witnessing domestic violence, emotional abuse and neglect), loss, AD/HD, substance use, limited use of effective coping skills, impaired decision making, relationship issues, impulsivity and engagement in acting out and/or unsafe behaviors.
I use a collaborative and strength based approach to assist clients in recognizing and building upon their strengths and overcoming their challenges and have helped many clients in my work. I have used several different approaches including: cognitive-behavioral, motivational, trauma focused, relational, and solution focused depending upon client presentation, client goals and client feedback. I treat others with respect and am empathetic, relatable, dependable and have a sense of humor.
