Katherine is a kind, compassionate, and steady listener who supports children, adolescents, and young adults looking for a safe space to process life challenges and work towards their goals. By walking with, empowering, and giving hope to her clients, Katherine helps people find healthy ways to express their feelings and cope with struggles. Katherine is passionate about helping her clients find their voices when they feel lost, burdened, and hopeless. Everyone has a complex life story, and Katherine works to understand each person unique background and individual strengths in order to help them work towards living their best lives in a way that works for them. Many people experience troubling thoughts that often lie under the surface of worry, sadness, irritability, behavioral issues, or bad habits. Katherine helps people learn how to identify, re-focus, and replace these negative thought patterns through mindfulness and practical coping skills. Through empathy, genuineness, and exploring possibilities, Katherine connects with each client in a way that meets their specific needs so that each person she meets can experience growth and healing as they move forward in life. To relate to younger clients, Katherine often employs play therapy techniques and story-telling. Katherine attended Harding University where she received a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Spanish as well as an Ed.S./M.S. in Clinical Mental Health and Professional School Counseling. Through counseling children, teenagers, and their families in school and clinical settings, Katherine has developed a passion for serving and encouraging families and individuals in her community.
