I have been a psychotherapist in private practice for over 12 years. In addition, I have worked in diverse settings such as with the geriatric populations in nursing homes, with individuals experiencing acute symptoms of major mental illness in in patient hospital settings, and for community mental health settings.

I specialize in treating individuals experiencing trauma, resulting from childhood abuse or repeated exposure to trauma, who have developed negative beliefs of self as a result of the trauma. The form of therapy I use is exposure based, which is a form of behavior based therapy. The focus of therapy is to restructure a persons core foundation to create a healthy and stable realistic and appreciative view of oneself. It goes at a slower pace than other forms of therapy because there is a focus on getting to the core of the problem rather than focusing on symptoms alone. There is also a special focus on relationship to emotions and attachment style. The outcome will result in the client experiencing a healthier relationship with their emotions and being able to successfully build and maintain secure attachments in their interpersonal relationships.
