Hello! My name is Katie and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience providing therapy services. Throughout my experience as a clinician with a variety of clients, it is clear that one of the most important aspects of a counseling relationship is a safe and trusting place to connect to your counselor. Non-judgment, open-mindedness, and empathy are forefront in my approach to counseling.

Born in raised in beautiful Washington State, I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science at Washington State University and my Masters degree in Social Work at University of Wisconsin-Madison. I returned to Washington to begin working in several different therapeutic settings with a variety of people including teens, adults, and aging adults. I work primarily with people dealing with depression, anxiety, feelings of isolation and loneliness, self-esteem, substance abuse issues, and coping with grief and loss.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered and strength-based, emphasizing that clients are experts of their own lives. I utilize a CBT modality to address relationship between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to identify thought distortions that may be causing distress in daily life. I also employ a DBT modality to promote mindfulness, find healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others.
