I am the CEO/Founder of Village Mindset, LLC, a virtual social work firm that houses The Social Work Institute, INC., a virtual training facility for social workers, and a low-cost mental health clinic based in Hampton, VA. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2007 at NC State University and my Master of Social Work, Clinical Concentration in 2014 at Norfolk State University. I specialize in helping my clients heal from their first heartbreak…the one caused by their family of origin, and helping them explore, define, and enforce their boundaries across various domains in their lives, whether that be in the workplace, intimate relationships, with peers, with their children, or even within themselves so that they can create healthy habits that promote self-care, self-love, increase their trust, sex, and intimacy with their loved ones, and help reduced anxiety, depression, anger, stress, feelings of imposter syndrome, as well as help free them from the scars left from exposure to childhood maltreatment, community violence, intimate partner violence, family violence, and racial trauma. I like to approach issues from a strength-based perspective. I am solution-focused. I do not believe in keeping people in service forever. If you want to be in therapy for 5 to 10 years, I am not the provider for you. To work with me, you must be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work. My sessions are fun, thought-provoking, challenging, painful, and tearful. If you are a teenager 15-17, an adult trying to figure out this thing called “adulting” aged 18-45, parent/bonus parent, or co-parent, and you are sick of generational curses and history repeating in your family system, then you have found the right therapist! Please note that if I determine that therapy is inappropriate for you, we can also discuss utilizing coaching modalities.
