Kate Murphy has worked since 2008 with adults, adolescents, children and couples to help them overcome anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and other life challenges. She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and a master licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and recently finished her training for her Doctorate in Counseling and School Psychology from Rivier University. Her clinical work often consists of mindfulness based approaches and to help her others become aware of the thoughts and behaviors that we experience that lead to much of what causes our distress. Kate has worked with a variety of client populations and has an interest in working with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, divorce, substance misuse, self- esteem, body image, identity issues, life transitions, and relationship problems. In addition to this, Kate has a passion for group work as a certified group psychotherapist and has experiences facilitating a variety of groups on topics such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, chronic pain, forgiveness and loss, self-esteem, anger management (both court-ordered and voluntary), assertiveness, and process oriented groups.
