I am committed Counselor possessing a broad range of experience in delivering multi-disciplinary, comprehensive, goal oriented therapy. I began counseling later in life after working for over 20 years as a successful cosmetologist. That experience helped me develop good listening and communication skills. I am familiar with military culture due to my career military father and having a daughter who is currently serving. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, self esteem, communication, and adjustment issues.
I completed my Master's in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Illinois in 2011 and my Bachelor's in Sociology at SIUE in 2008. When we first meet, I will spend time getting to know you and what your goals are, discuss the various types of therapy I use, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. I have a laid-back, open, conversational style and teach coping skills to assist in symptom management. I am accomplished at fostering meaningful relationships and developing effective short and/or long-term plans to assist you in moving forward through difficulties to achieve your goals. I also possess skills and leading situation-specific counseling sessions and have experience with adults in crisis.
I have a flexible schedule, including nights and Saturday appointments.
