About

My name is Karl Butler, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Michigan with 6 years of Counseling experience and 8 years of experience in Mental Health. Over the years I have worked with couples, individuals, and families in an in-home and outpatient setting. In addition to working with individuals and families who voluntarily seek services, I have also worked with clients who are mandated through Child Protective Services and the Foster Care system. I have an abundance of experience in working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, family and relationship conflict, juvenile delinquency, and other life challenges.

My approach to therapy is to ensure my clients are comfortable with being themselves without having feelings of shame or guilt regarding their engaging in the therapeutic process. I understand and implement the importance of being reflective of the clients I serve. I strive to have professional, relaxed, and genuine relationships with each of my clients.

I completed my master's degree in Social Work at Grand Valley State University. I also have a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University. My professional experience began with working in a residential facility for children involved in foster care, child protective service, and juvenile justice system. My experience also includes working as a home-based therapist, Mental Health Liaison for the Department of Health and Human Services, and as a Juvenile Probation Officer. My experiences have led me to provide treatment to or assist in the implementation of services for significantly intense cases to mild or moderate cases.

I strive to empower clients through therapeutic strategies and treatment plans for optimal wellness. I am dedicated to serving individuals and families with clinical expertise and commitment to leave a positive impact regardless of who I serve!
