About
My name is Karen Baum and I am a licensed clinical counselor in Ohio and Michigan. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Community Counseling. Although I have much experience in assisting clients with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and more, I specialize in anxiety and relationship issues. This may include sexual issues, communication, infidelity, repeating your "type" of partner, open relationships, and LGBTQIA issues.
My counseling style is warm and supportive. I will challenge you on your counseling path but with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion. We will be partners in deciding the direction of your treatment. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my sessions. I believe our thoughts often direct our feelings and behaviors. This does not mean other aspects are not very important and need to be addressed.
I am glad you have taken this step to improve your present and future. Let your past be an opportunity to see what you do and do not want in your future.
