About

We all have an innate drive toward aliveness, wellness, success, and wholeness. Life's challenges, past hurts, and traumas can disconnect you from the natural healing mechanisms that drive you towards health, well being and wholeness. Many times these disconnections and incidents create internal blocks or barriers preventing you from fully becoming the person you were meant to be. My deepest passion lies in helping you improve the quality of your life by removing these blocks and helping you discover your True Form. True Form means being your authentic and best self. I'm here to help you form a life you enjoy living.
I utilize a body-based approach toward healing. This "body-up" versus a "head-down" approach enables true healing to occur. Many people who choose to work with me have had "talk-therapy" (head-down approach) in the past and report they know a lot about themselves, and still, struggle with genuine change. This is often because the past incidents are connected to your physiology and nervous system whereby more insight will not generate effective and necessary changes. Your innate drive to heal and find a resolution, which is why some of your issues keep resurfacing, even when you feel you have worked on them in therapy in the past. If you have not been in therapy in the past, this approach will be a wonderful journey towards becoming the person you were most meant to become, and you won't' have the comparison that I'm taking a slightly different approach. Taking a whole-person approach enables clients to heal more quickly and completely. I am trained in the most effective therapeutic approaches that are research-backed and evidence-based methods.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling & Holistic Health Education from John F. Kennedy University (1996). I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in four states: California, Arizona, Colorado & North Carolina. Since the age of 18, I have been acquiring and mastering skills in counseling others. In my undergraduate years, I worked on crisis hotlines, taught women’s empowerment and self -defense classes, volunteered in a teen drug treatment center. During my process of licensure and following licensure (1999), I worked with abuse and trauma survivors (PTSD), people struggling with: anxiety and depression; healed family relations; women's empowerment and confidence-building; worked with troubled families and teens, reunified families at a teen runaway shelter. I designed curriculum for a welfare to work program, did career coaching, worked as a school-counselor in three different schools, worked as a sport psychology consultant with athletes and executives on optimal performance, taught parent education courses, taught resiliency building, mindfulness and stress management courses. I am familiar with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration challenges, ADHD, and many other "disorders." (People don't fit into categories or boxes, so I don't care for this term, as people are not dis-ordered, they've organized themselves to survive and developed compensations to handle the challenges in front of them, in wise and wonderful ways). I have been in my field serving others and helping people heal and live authentic meaningful lives for nearly 30 years.
If there's something you're looking to heal, grow for the future or a way that you need to align yourself with what matters most to you, I'm certain our collaboration will enable you to design a life you love living.
