About

Welcome! I am Karen and I am so glad you are here. If you are here, it is because you are looking for support in some area of your life and you are in the right place. Reaching out and getting support is a sign of strength and I hope you recognize this. I am here to support you in addressing whatever is concerning you at this time. Together, we can work to get things feeling better for you as quickly as possible.

Let me tell you al little bit about me. I have a master's degree in social work from Boston University and have been a licensed therapist in Massachusetts for eighteen years. I have also been a certified life coach for twelve years. I have experience working with adults in outpatient settings and online as well as in an employee assistance program setting. I have worked a lot with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, sleep problems, parenting concerns, trauma, work-related problems, communication problems, and self-confidence concerns to name a few. I really enjoy the opportunity to understand my client's concerns and needs and then to partner with them to identify solutions. My approach is warm, engaging and open so that my clients are comfortable in opening up about what they are needing support with.

I come from a positive psychology perspective which focuses on not only helping clients survive, but also to thrive. My therapeutic style focuses a lot on helping client's recognize their unconscious thoughts that are causing their challenging emotions, and as a result the actions they are taking. This is called cognitive behavioral therapy and is very effective for many individuals. I will always use a client-centered approach and take the lead from my clients, who are the experts in their own lives, while also offering suggestions and strategies that I believe may support them in overcoming their challenges. I also utilize a solution -focused and strengths-based approach which allows my clients to tap into, and nurture their strengths to support them in achieving their goals. My goal will always be to support you, encourage you, and sometimes challenge you so that you can achieve your desired result as quickly as possible.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
