About
I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work in 1999, with a concentration on Children and Families. The majority of my professional career was spent as a School Social Worker, both in Rhode Island and Florida. I counseled students with emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as students with learning disorders. I also was an advocate for parents as they negotiated the 504 and IEP process for their children. I supported teachers through managing non-compliant, explosive behaviors, and also with their classroom behavioral programs. For the last 4 years, I have been providing outpatient therapy to children and adults. I have been a Clinical Manager for multiple offices, which has allowed me to provide case consultation, and the ability to help other therapists treat difficult behaviors. I also offer clinical supervision to Registered Social Work Interns and I have been able to reinforce the beauty of social work as a system-based, empowering profession.
