Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working as a mental health professional. I have worked with children, adolescents and their families during the forensic investigation of child abuse. I have worked with clients experiencing traumatic stress and PTSD as a result of mental/emotional, physical or sexual abuse.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I consider the client/therapist relationship to be the most important thing in counseling. I also think that it is important for parents to know that when I work with children or adolescents, I also work with parents as they are an important part in their teen's healing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I am certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and my approach combines trauma-focused, solution focused and motivational interviewing counseling styles. As a therapist working with teens, I will use our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs using a variety of ways to facilitate your personal growth using art, music, books, symbolism and metaphor.
