About
We each want a life that reflects our better selves — where our fears, doubts, anxieties, and unproductive habits fade into the background. Or maybe right now, you just want to feel ok — not hurt this much. Since it’s often hard to make significant changes on your own, it’s a great idea to seek out a collaborator — someone to compassionately and skillfully accompany you on this challenging and rewarding healing journey. I’m a warm, practical, intuitive, and curious therapist with over 20 years of experience with all kinds of people in many settings. I have always stayed on top of the various types of therapy that help clients heal and move forward. These include Narrative, Solution-Focused, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment), Guided Imagery, and others. My early training was in Attachment-Based Therapies and Family Systems, which still informs my perspective. Since I’ve found that clients typically seek therapy with an urgency to make things better — to reduce the intensity, frequency, and duration of difficult emotions or experiences — I typically take a two-tiered approach where we make sure we address current concerns while also establishing a deep foundation for long term healing and growth. I listen closely and am interested in pursuing what is helpful, and leaving behind the things that aren’t. Having become a therapist in my 30s, I had lived the stress of service industry work, an ambitious career in advertising, and experienced several years of losses and challenges in my life before training a therapeutic lens on it — and believe my therapy work is better for it.
