About

I am going to let you in on something. I, too, come from a place of conflictual relationships, anxiety and lack of self-love. Therapy helped me channel the innate strength residing in each and every one of us, and changed my whole life trajectory. My name is Kaitlyn. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Checking out this site was a huge step! Should you decide to move forward, I am here to assist you with dissolving any barriers standing in your way of success. For the past 6 years I have partnered with clients on their journey towards healing and self-acceptance, helping them restore the balance in their relationships with themselves, and with others.

As a bicultural Vietnamese American, I possess a deep understanding of cultural expectations, acculturation and questions surrounding identity, along with the often ensuing detrimental psychological effects they may have. I work with young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and other life stressors. And as a fervent advocate for self-healing, I believe that everyone has what it takes to overcome these seemingly insurmountable challenges, and to learn to give themselves the love they seek in others.

There is no one-size fits all in therapy, and every client’s needs are unique. As such, I use a holistic and integrative client-centered framework that is trauma-informed, strength-based and LGBTQ affirmative. Fusing Western and Eastern practices, I draw on the recovery centered clinical system, psychodynamic approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy, while incorporating spirituality, mindfulness and body work in my treatment because the body keeps the score. My job is to provide the tools to help you find your strength within, ensuring that you feel supported and valued on your journey to recovering your health, hopes, and dreams.

I hold an MS in Counseling - Marriage Family Therapy from California State University Fullerton, in addition to specialized training in domestic violence, sexual assault victim services, and evidence based treatments such as Trauma Focused CBT, Family Connection, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy along with a BA in Human Communication Studies - Intercultural Communication, which greatly influence my work.

Everyone has the right to feel lovable, worthy and to realize their own potential. You’ve already made a huge first step by finding me here. Let’s work together!
