About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Play Therapy and Activity Therapy for children and preadolescents with a variety of presenting concerns. I also works frequently with adolescents and adults in the context of traditional talk therapy. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas where I trained in Play Therapy, Group Play Therapy, Activity Therapy, Filial Therapy, Group Counseling, and Crisis Intervention. While at UNT, I also trained in Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT). The goal of CPRT is to strengthen the quality of the parent-child connection to reduce child behavior problems and stress between the parent-child relationship.

My experience working in agency and hospital settings has allowed me to gain comprehensive training in treating clients struggling with trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, divorce, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, and child/parent relationship concerns. I work to meet my clients where they are, supporting their growth toward increased self-awareness, emotional regulation, and reducing their overall distress in a safe nonjudgmental space utilizing aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My specialization with children and adolescents involves operating within their developmental abilities utilizing play and activity therapy. I strongly values acceptance, empathy, and genuineness in all of my therapeutic relationships.
