I am glad you are taking the brave step to reach out to make healthy and positive life changes. My name is Julie Atabe and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, Arizona and Wisconsin. I have over 20 years of experience and have been in practice since 2001 when I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with an MS Ed. in counseling. I have worked in outpatient therapy, county programs and the inpatient hospital setting. I specialize in a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, as well as life transitions.

My treatment approach is based on building rapport, trust, and open communication. The therapeutic approaches I use include client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I will help you reach your individualized goals by focusing on your strengths, skills, and abilities. I do this also by creating a safe environment for you to be yourself in and not feel judged. My counseling style is warm, accepting, empathetic, uses humor, and allows you to be your best self.
