Hello. Thank you for taking this step in looking for a change. There are many steps to take to change and to grow. There is no set amount of steps to take, no time limit and no certain direction; change is chaotic and can be hard, especially if you have unreal expectations and are basing your change on someone else's success, or lack there of. This is about YOU and what you want and need. With that being said, I am here to be your guide in self-exploration, self-acceptance, self-control and discovery of your authentic self. My approach is not based on one therapeutic lens or a particular intervention. If I were to highlight my method, I would say it was "transtheoretical". Yes, this is a thing! However, I am skilled in providing interventions that will be most beneficial for you in the traditional sense. We will talk more about style and approach once we meet.
I have been working in community mental health care for three years and currently, I specialize in helping the forensics population. Before the world of mental health care, I worked in the medical field for over twenty years. The longer I worked in the medical field, the more I gravitated towards holistic care and overall wellness. It is incredible how our physical self affects our psychological self and vice versa. Something as common as poor sleep can transcend into a mental health issue. Depression can by related to a thyroid disorder. Anger and poor judgement can be related to an undiagnosed traumatic brain injury. The lists go on and on. Mental health is HEALTH. Enough about me though.
