About
Hi! I'm Judy. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa and my Masters Degree from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. I have a clinical license in Arizona and Iowa. I have had an exciting career as a Licensed Social Worker, providing services to many people of all ages. I have worked with adults with disabilities, adults with severe mental illness, provided therapy to children, couples, and adults with a variety of issues, such as depression, stress, parenting, marriage issues, trauma, substance abuse, traumatic brain injury, crisis, grief and loss, caregiving stress, medical issues, behavior disorders, homelessness, sexual abuse, domestic violence, PTSD, and other life stressors. I worked for 36 years with Special Olympics as a coach, Area Coordinator, and Tournament Director. I have worked in Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, providing day treatment for adults with severe mental illness and as a outpatient therapist. I was the Director of a Substance Abuse Residential and Outpatient Treatment Program for Women with Children, for 12 years in Iowa. I have also been the Director of a residential program for teens who did not have a home or could no longer live at home and needed the skills and education to be able to live on their own, as well as counseling. I have been a Clinical Director for thirteen outpatient programs, serving families, adults and children, expanding the program to nine locations across the State of Iowa. I have done EAP work for several different Behavioral Health providers, when I had a private practice in Iowa. I have been on task forces for domestic violence, mental health, and traumatic brain injury. I have been involved in ARC, Brain Injury Association, and Developmental Disabilities Council. For four years, I was appointed, by the Governor of Iowa, to the Iowa Substance Abuse Council. I had the privilege to be on of the authors for government publication on Treatment for Stimulant Abuse. Since moving to Arizona, I have been providing clinical Social Work services in a medical setting. I am available some weekdays, but primarily during evenings and weekends. I am a good listener. I am easy going and work with the client where they are at with their issue. I am honest and direct.
