Hi there, I'm Juana! My name is Juana Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am oriented to helping those that are experiencing distress and life changes that are affecting everyday functioning by using a holistic approach to treatment. My approach The theoretical approaches I use are cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and holistic. My focus I typically work with clients that are experiencing anxiety and inability to cope due to stress and life changes. Primarily work with women and elderly clients that are in need of tools for coping with life changes and stressors. My communication style I use a quiet tone and non-confrontational. I also use reflective listening and motivational techniques to encourage and assist clients in finding their own solutions. My journey to therapy I have been working with abused children and adults for over 30 years. In my experience as a case manager in these programs, I learned that in case managing, there were limited opportunities to provide direct services and support due to restrictions and mandates in these cases. This led me to pursue my licensing to be able to work closely with clients that are finding themselves in crisis and struggling with life changes and adjustments. My goals for you After the initial intake, I would discuss with client's needs, and identify with the client what their priorities are, and formulate goals alongside the client. My first session with you Introduce myself and allow clients to use this time to discuss their needs, reasons for coming to therapy, and what they would like to accomplish (set goals). I would also, during this session, discuss privacy and confidentiality and what they can expect from me.
