Hello, my name is Juan Carlos Llamas. I am a bilingual Spanish Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years of experience working in the field of mental health. I specialize in treating individuals with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach The approach that I utilize in providing therapy to my clients is person-centered. I provide a safe, compassionate, respectful, and validating environment to drive treatment. I utilize a variety of evidence-based theoretical approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My focus My experience consists of working with children with complex high needs, youth, and adults who are suffering from anxiety, depression, and traumatic experiences. I feel most comfortable treating children, youth, and adults with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am bilingual (Spanish) and can effectively treat patients who are monolingual Spanish speaking. My communication style I utilize an empathic, disposition with my clients. I respond thoughtfully, stay engaged, and actively listen. I maintain a positive, warm, and welcoming tone of voice. I respect all my client's voice and choices and I provide emotional support as a base to build emotional safety in therapy. My journey to therapy My journey to becoming a therapist began when I developed a passion to help others, others who have been impacted by adversity, children, youth, and adults alike. Now, I have been in the field for 8-plus years and trained in helping people recover from difficult experiences with trauma, anxiety, depression, and other psychological conditions. I value relationships with people and understand the impact human connection has on recovery.
