Joy Singh is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 19 years experience working in outpatient mental health. Joy is originally from VA but spent 18 years in IL as the owner of AMI Counseling, LLC with locations throughout the Chicagoland area. As a trauma informed clinician, Joy is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Joy specializes in relationships, self-esteem, codependency, domestic violence/abuse, anxiety/panic, depression, bipolar disorder, self-injury/self-harm, chronic anger, joint/blended family issues, gender identity/dysphoria, and personality disorders. Joy works with children, adolescents and adults, and is an ally for the GLBTQIA community. Her clients enjoy the fact that she provides clinical explanations in simple terms, allowing them to walk away with real life tools. Treatment is customized towards each client’s individual needs, allowing for self-exploration in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Joy has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University, a Bachelors of Arts in International Studies from George Mason University and is an alum of The Second City.
