About

You’ve made a great first step towards feeling better! For many individuals, asking for help can be on one of the hardest steps towards a healthier wellbeing. I use an eclectic approach to tailor individualized treatment plans. I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives and I follow their lead in order to meet the client where they are, emotionally. I understand that every client is different, and there is not a universal therapy style. I adjust my approach whether clients are seeking a therapist that will play an active role in supporting their therapeutic success, or whether the client is seeking a second “set of ears,” a non-judgemental opinion, or a "sounding board." In the early stages of therapy, I focus on rapport building and creating a therapeutic relationship. I understand that for many individuals disclosing private information to a stranger, even a therapist, can be a challenge. I understand this, and my therapy approach is gentle and pressure-free. I have been told by former clients and colleagues that my approach is warm and nonthreatening.

I have 10 years of post-graduate therapy experience. I have provided clinical services in a residential setting working with adolescents with severe mental health and behavioral challenges, completing 90 day evaluations for the purposes of long term treatment placements. Later, I provided in-home therapy for children in therapeutic foster-care, working primarily with adolescents and teenagers. For the last 7 years, I have worked in an outpatient mental health clinic providing clinical services to a vast range of populations and conditions. I work with clients as young as 6 years old, I have worked with clients with anxiety, mood disorders, traumatic stress disorders, behavioral disorders, psychotic disorders and personality disorders. I have significant experience working with the LGBTQ community, with a particular focus on gender dysphoria.

In addition to completing a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health, I have also completed a post graduate certificate in treating childhood trauma.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have additional questions. I look forward to meeting with you.
