Hello! I am Joy Chandler, a national certified counselor, LPC, in Texas.

My therapy style is centered around Attachment Theories, Solution Focus Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, and Emotional Transformation Therapy.
" Psychotherapy with Colors"
Emotional Transformation Therapy is a technique that facilitates relief of emotional distress and physical symptoms through a unique balance of attachment-based interpersonal relationship between you and the therapist. The process is with precise visual and brain stimulation using colors and wavelengths of light. I use this in relationship to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I have a diverse background working with all ages of people, and cultures. I lived in Kaiserslautern, Germany and worked with the military the last two years. I have traveled Texas and various Air Force and Army bases to counsel active military, families, couples, and children.

My experience includes stress management, adjustment issues, trauma, sexual assault victims, pain management, sleep issues, women's issues, depression, parenting issues, aging issues, panic attacks, ADHD, and PTSD.

You will be treated with dignity, sensitivity, kindness, and warmth as I get to know you as a unique individual.

I am open minded and always ask progress questions as we get to know each other.
My attention will be focused on meeting your needs in a non- judgmental way and to also motivate you. We will work together to meet your goals. I believe in taking time and working on wellness slowly, holistically, and consistently. I work on somatic symptoms as well as emotions. I will share techniques that you will be able to use when you are not able to have a live session.

I completed my Master of Science in Texas for Guidance and Counseling, August, 2003. I have worked as a counselor in varies capacities: Young adults, adolescents with behavioral issues, couples, women, men, individuals, aging issues, and veterans.
