About

Hello,

My name is Joshua Doyle and I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor. I served 7 and a half years in the United States Army as an 11B (Infantry) Soldier before becoming a Counselor. I became interested in Psychology while I was deployed to the Middle East. I saw many individuals suffer from many mental illnesses while I was deployed but most never got help because of the stigma involved with mental health issues. This is a very common problem I have seen, both as a Soldier and a Counselor. As a result, my services are very humanistic in nature. I provide assistance to individuals using a combination of CBT, DBT, Attachment Theory, and Motivational Interviewing. As a Counselor, I have found that Motivational Interviewing is very helpful because a lot of individuals want help but don't fully understand what it is that is happening to them. This is for a number of reasons including, where a person grew up, economic status, culture, race, and gender; to name a few. Individuals who accept my services can expect to receive, not only counseling, but also education. It is the firm belief of every Rogerian or Humanistic Counselor, that every individual who presents for counseling services are intelligent and insightful enough to solve their own problems. As a counselor, I have found that most people are able to solve their own problems with the help and guidance of a trained and Professional Mental Health Counselor.

I attended Lemoyne College for my undergraduate studies and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. I then attended Canisius College for graduate studies and graduated with a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016. I have worked a Crisis Responder on the National Veteran's Crisis Line, as well as, a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor for the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs.
