I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. I graduated from Rutgers University with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy as well as a graduateI am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. Additionally, I earned a certificate in addiction counseling through completion of the Rutgers Addiction Certificate Training (ACT) program through the Rutgers Graduate School of Social Work. Since graduating, I have completed training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am working toward certification. With over 5 years of clinical practice experience working in a variety of outpatient and inpatient treatment settings, I have worked with diverse client populations. Coming from a Mindfulness and Buddhist Psychology background with over 14 years of personal practice, I remain person-centered and trauma-informed in my work with the people I serve. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Self-Compassion, and EMDR in my approach to therapeutic work. I am trained to target traumatic memories, distressing emotions, and beliefs using EMDR and believe every individual I work with has inherent worth, strengths, and resilience which can be used to actualize their goals and begin to heal themselves. Drawing from neuroscience, I seek to provide the skills, care, education, and resources to help people learn to soothe their nervous system and connect with their values. I believe in the importance of normalizing the vast and sometimes difficult experience of being human in the journey to healing. A foundation of my practice includes an emphasis on the healing power of connection, non-judgment, and empowerment.
