I help people recover a sense of peace and aliveness after loss, and help awaken the best in couples and individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, and trauma. My work is about empowering people to make peace with and let go of what has not been working in their lives and shed more light on what has been working already. A graduate of Northern Illinois University's specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, I am also an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist certified by the Grief Recovery Institute, trained in an evidence-based approach to helping people heal from traumatic loss. I have been helping people in groups and individually recover emotionally from grief due to death, divorce, other estrangements, job loss, pet loss, and other losses since 2009. I enjoy helping couples repair damage from betrayal and other disappointments. As a published author "Cartwheels in the Rain: Finding Faith in the Wake of the Unthinkable" and contributor to the book "If I Don't Make it, I Love You", I have spoken on multiple Christian and secular media outlets regarding experience dealing with loss due to gun violence and forgiveness. I continue to speak and teach on topics of grief, marriage, parenting, and faith.
