I am a Bi-lingual and Bi-cultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ psychotherapist with twenty three years of Clinical, Case-management and Social services experience in a variety of systems and with a variety of client populations. I am of Latino heritage and was raised and lived in Bridgeport Connecticut for many years. I am currently living in Miami Florida. I worked in the Miami Dade Public Schools as a clinician / social worker for 10 years. My most recent experience is working at a large primary care group practice where I founded a grassroots behavioral health care program that I managed and was the primary mental health clinician for. I also have a private therapeutic practice . I provide assessment and individual, couples, and family therapy for a variety of client concerns ranging from depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, Panic/anxiety/ phobias/obsessive compulsive issues, couples relationship issues, as well as tobacco cessation, alcohol and other licit and illicit substance abuse treatment.
My treatment approach revolved around a full and thorough initial assessment, rapport building and the development of a good working therapeutic alliance . I also have a strong underpinning in Cognitive Behavioral therapy for short term approaches and psycho-dynamic therapies for a longer term approach.
