About

Hi! I'm Jordyn :)

Growing up I always wanted to help others. I watched my parents always lend a helping hand to family and friends my entire life. To this day, they continue to do so. Nothing feels more rewarding than to help someone in a time of need.

Social work has always been something that I have wanted to do since I was in middle school. I began therapy when I was 13. I was terrified. To open up to someone who knows absolutely nothing about you during a time when you are feeling vulnerable brings out an array of feelings. I can confidently say, it was the best decision I ever made. To build a positive therapeutic relationship with a therapist makes treatment such a rewarding experience. So much work can be done when both people are fully dedicated.

I attended Springfield College and transferred to UCONN during my sophomore year, where I received my BA and majored in Human development and Family Studies. Once I graduated from UCONN, I then attended Southern Connecticut State University and graduated in 2019, where I received my MSW. I recently took my Clinical Social Work exam in November of 2022 and passed, now making me a LCSW. I currently have 3+ years of professional work experience and am licensed in the state of Connecticut.

I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, depression, and addiction. I also have some experience working with those who are diagnosed with PTSD and struggle with managing their anger.
My goal is to help clients identify what is causing the symptoms they are experiencing. A person must pinpoint the root of the problem in order to know what direction to go in regarding treatment. I want clients be able to develop and utilize coping skills that they can implement in their daily lives. By doing so, the hope is that their symptoms will alleviate over time. I strive to empower my clients and ensure that they are the ones who are driving their treatment. I will collaborate with you to ensure that your treatment plan is individualized to your specific needs and goals. Making the decision to seek a more fulfilling, healthier, and happier life takes courage.

Opening up can be scary. Change can be even scarier. Knowing this, I will always be a support to help you along the way!

I can't wait to start this journey with you!
