Hello all, my name is Jonathan Edwards and I am licensed professional counselor stationed her in Texas. I am originally from San Diego, California and I have lived overseas. My approach as a counselor when working clients is to really connect with them and to gain an understanding the world that they come from and the experiences that have influenced their life. I aim to be transparent and authentic with all of my clients. As a counselor I believe that personal growth occurs as a result of applying our strengths to our problems and learning new ways to address current concerns. My approach as a counselor stems from a combination of my personal and professional experiences. The methods I use are intended to combine your strengths and the application of solution finding approach. I believe that the greatest solution to addressing an individuals concerns exists within themselves and the challenge is knowing how to use it. My professional experiences as a counselor have included working in the correctional system, substance misuse education and foster care. This means that I am familiar working with people who have complicated diagnosis and those who have experienced intense trauma. As a counselor approach each client with authenticity to address the problems that mean the most to them.
