My name is Jonathan Douglas, I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in the state of WA, and actively pursuing licensure in the state of California. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of behavioral healthcare settings for non-profit organizations as well as working in the private practice setting. A major focus of my work has been on managing individuals in crisis, having experienced a variety of traumatic experiences, developing healthy coping skills to manage anxiety and depression, and reducing overall life stress. I have a Master’s Degree from Central Washington University in Mental Health Counseling and was also trained as a School Counselor. My Bachelor's Degree is in Psychology, with a Minor in Ethnic Studies also from Central Washington University. Go Wildcats! I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which integrates aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), And have a foundational understanding of the role that trauma plays in the presentation of a variety of mental health concerns. I take pride in offering a trauma-informed approach and recognize the importance of acknowledging the role of culturally relevant factors that may exacerbate current life stressors.
